TBP Texturing Competition

Alright, let's do something different.

I sort of ran out of ideas for the Victory Mk2 flightgroup colors. I have red, blue and green markings, but one is left. So I had the idea to give those who like a chance to aid me here. let's have a little competition shall we?

I've made a pic of the Victory Mk2 with no markings at all. Now it's your turn. Show off your creativity and design a flightgroup marking pattern.

Anything goes, any color(s) goes. At the end I will choose a favorite which will make it into the final version.

The winner will
- get to beta-test the new version
- have a place in the credits of course
- I'll think of something else as incentive ;)

oh nice

but i think there should be more color in the gray spots, but don't listen to me. You used asymmetry! That doesn't show often enough in textures! I like it, personally!

Sorry for the delay. I kept you lot waiting long enough, I guess ;)

First of all let me say that I had a rather hard time choosing, since all of you did a great job. All works sent in look great. In the end, like Squarehead guessed correctly, I would have to see what looks best AND makes most sense in the game context.

So, without further ado, the winner is: Mako.
I liked the idea of adding the ESS insignia (which are derived from the Cophuranee, btw) to create a sort-of elite royal squadron. This was an idea I myself had priorly tinkered with. I might as well put in the UPA insignia in one of the other flightgroup colors.

So, congratulations Mako.

BUT, you others who have participated, don't be disappointed. I have decided that there shall be no losers in this contest.

As you may know, there is an alternative download for the Victory Mk2, currently featuring only a single FG color, that of the legendary Moo Squadron (cow-hide markings). I have decided to adopt the other 3 propositions for this version to fill in the remaining 3 FG colors. And you will, of course, get the chance to beta-test this version.

With this the first TBP texturing contest is completed. Stay tuned for more. ;)
